About Jenny Carey

My Story

Jenny Carey is a retired nurse with over 20 years of experience in the health care setting. Before nursing, she worked in the garments industry for 16 years. She also worked in various industries since the age of 15 years. Exposure to various industries helped Jenny to boost her imagination and helped her to have insights into people and their emotions.

After retirement, Carey has entered poetry competitions and has won first place in the Royal Dragonfly Book Award for her first book “Fun Poems For Your Child” and had an award nomination in the New England Book Festival, award nomination in The Wishing Shelf Awards. Carey also received a letter of acknowledgement from The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Mr. Boris Johnson.

The inspiration behind writing her book “Fun Poems For Your Child” came from her own experiences when she was a child. She hopes that children, worldwide, will enjoy reading them and the book will expand their imagination.

Jenny Carey is married to Andrew since 1981. Andrew is now retired and he is the biggest supporter of Jenny. Jenny and Andrew love to travel a lot. They have travelled to several destinations around the globe to learn and get inspired from other cultures. Andrew is also an artist and a photographer, who shares a table with Jenny with his artworks, whilst she meets her readers.
